I have been learning about this project for quite some time. Because I held the wrong priors, I was mentally blocked from seeing Society Protocol and the web4 paradigm in its fullest extension. Now, I will attempt to create a series of explanations that make it much easier to understand what Society Protocol actually is. I had to remove many mental blocks and re-examine my own presuppositions to finally see it clearly.
This process will help me find ways to “sell” the project to others, as purely technical explanations only make sense to highly technical people. To the average individual, tech people and their digital coins are just weird abstractions. If we can create the most comprehensive explanation possible, without losing clarity and precision, we will be able to reconstruct the entire web3 paradigm in a new light. This new perspective will make it abundantly clear to everyone that they need to move to web4 and build on top of it.
At the same time, everyday users can skip web3 completely and jump straight into the stable world of web4, where accounts are real thanks to the built-in Sybil resistance provided by variations of Energy, the ‘money’ of the system.
This concept alone deserves an entire explanation. By shifting the emphasis from holding objects (like Bitcoin) or assets (like Ethereum) to holding Energy inside blockchain technology, we can finally enable triple-entry accounting technology to show the full extent of its capabilities. This is a true paradigm shift and the establishment of web4 as a concrete concept.
